Mengtao Yu began working with us in 2009. Ms. Yu's experience includes American civil and criminal litigation, Chinese corporate law and dispute resolution.
Ms. Yu began practicing law in China in 2000 at Dowway & Partners before moving to TransAsia Lawyers. At both firms, she handled matters involving foreign investments, real estate, corporate restructuring, contract law and employment law matters. Ms. Yu represented two major Chinese state-owned enterprises in their complex corporate restructuring. Ms. Yu's American legal experience includes a summer internship with Krantz & Berman LLP and a summer associate position in the Beijing office of White & Case LLP.
Ms. Yu received her bachelor of law degree in 1997 from the Renmin University of China School of Law, her masters of law degree from the Indiana University School of Law in 2005, and her juris doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2009. She also served as a law clerk to Chief Judge John G. Baker of the Indiana Court of Appeals.
