Joyce Young has been with our office since 2009. She is a commercial litigator with extensive experience in state and federal courts. She began her career at Brown & Wood and Dechert, Price & Rhoads, where she represented large corporations in connection with complex commercial litigation matters arising out of contracts, securities, fiduciary duties, asset valuations, accounting, and banking transactions. Ms. Young is also admitted to practice in Connecticut, where she served as a municipal attorney.
Mrs. Young has broad alternative dispute resolution experience. She has represented numerous clients in arbitrations involving sales of closely held corporations, large scale commercial construction defects, investment advisory disputes, accounting fraud, contracts and residential construction matters. She serves as a member of the mediation and commercial arbitration panel of the American Arbitration Association.
Ms. Young earned dual degrees in International Affairs and Journalism from the University of Colorado. She received her law degree from Fordham University, where she earned the West Publishing Co. Award for ranking second in her graduating class. For many years she taught basic and advanced legal writing and advocacy at New York Law School.
